The Ryde Report
January 2002
The Ryde rang in the New Year, 2002, with a bang and Suzie Q, as the clock struck midnight at Texas South, located between Jourdanton and Pleasanton Texas, birthplace of the Texas Cowboy (and myself, of course!) The place was packed with an unbelievable crowd of party-goers as the Ryde drove us through the night. Everyone was electric and moving to the beat, and the place looked unbelievable; complete with horns, hats, streamers, poppers and champaign glasses! Mr. Martinez, Texas South's owner, sure knows how to throw one rockin' little party. A wonderful suprise was added to the evening when a group of Mike Meneley's musical buddies took the stage and rocked us all with a few of their favorite tunes, including Otis Redding's, "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay"...absolutely magical! The Ryde will be performing at Texas South, throughout the month of January, as well as at such favorite hangouts as: Scooter's Roadhouse in Fredericksburg, and CJ's Scoreboard, The Poorhouse, Mainstreet, Shenanigan's, and Fiasco's all Located in San Antonio. Check out our, "Places to go and people to see" page for a current list of up-coming dates. We love to see you there!
